Like courage wolf, Socially Awkward Penguin got its start on the 4chan /b/ board. Much like Courage wolf, the point behind it is to give advice or to describe certain life situations. However, unlike the wolf, any advice is none aggressive and all of the other situations are exceptionally uncomfortable situations for people less than elegant in social situations.

This video is one of many different kinds of dramatic animal videos. There are many like this and is said to go all the way back to 2001 with dramatic squirrel (actually a prairie dog) that appeared on Japanese television. The meme itself didn’t really catch on until around 2007, but after that the video spawned a lot of various forms of the meme. And, of course, other dramatic animal videos began to crop up including (my favorite) the dramatic kitty.

Courage wolf is an internet meme phenomenon that finds itself changing a lot. Yet, that is the point behind this particular meme. It is based around putting new and funny sayings on the picture of the wolf. Some are funny, some are offensive to many people, but without a doubt, courage wolf is quite popular. There are similar types out there: Advice dog, bachelor frog, socially awkward penguin, and so on. Courage wolf is said to “help you achieve greatness” with his advice. No matter what you feel about this particular meme, be it amusement, disgust, indifference there is no doubt that this meme appeals to many people and will continue to be popular for a long time.
The phrase “Oh God! I can see forever!” is usually applied to pictures with subjects that have shocked, surprised, or stunned expressions. The implication is that the person or animal in the picture is staring into some sort of endless void that no mortal was ever meant to see and will never be the same again.
Most people attribute this phrase to H.P Lovecraft’s story, The Call of Cthulhu, and although the phrase probably did get its inspiration from the story, it does not ever appear within the text itself.
